Line and Shape
These are my line and shape works. My favorite photos are one, my leaf photo and two, my fence photo. For my leaf photo i was in the woods and thought the way that the light was hitting the leaves looked pretty so i took a photo and really enjoy it. I was kneeling right above the plant so got very close and photographed it vertically. I wouldn't quit say the rule of thirds is demonstrated in this shot because the plant just extends across from the down right corner to the upper left corner with the repeating leaf shape. I also feel as though the composition of this photo is very balances and details can be seen. I feel it is a great shape photo.
My fence photo demonstrates line but can also be seen as an example of shape. i took it in my mums garden at my house and my focus was the fence surrounding the garden. To take it i got very close, almost up against the fence and angled my camera vertically so that the shot was in thirds and looks to be peering along and down the fence. The eye is automatically drawn to the first pole of the fence but the fence detail and grass is beyond it. The one problem i had with this photo was playing with the composition. it was tricky and it still isn't as great as i would like it to be.
Rhythm and Texture and Pattern
These are my pattern and and texture works. A majority of the photos were taken in or outside of my house while the rest were either taken at the Berkley Bridge or in the court yard at school. my subject matter was either inanimate objects of thing outside/pertaining to nature. the photos i took were either taken very close to get the fine details from an angle or taken from a low side view to but things in a different perspective. more than half of my photos were taken horizontally while the other half were taken vertically. I tried to consider the rule of thirds especially when taking my photos vertically. For example my Rose, tree, and brick photo were split in thirds. I believe my bench photo has great composition. I feel it is not too contrasty and a smooth photo. Also my pine cone photo has some good color range that is very nice throughout. Because of this i feel my two best photos were my bench and pine cone or ladder photo because i feel the contract was good and angle of subject matter interesting.
Motion
Well i was not here when we did this project soI'm not very happy with the outcome of my photos and was slightly confused the whole time. But the first cartwheel photo i used a quick shutter speed to freeze the motion while the second and third photo I used a slower shutter speed to get the blur and the last was an in-between of the first and last shutter speed because she is not blurry while her hair is. I didnt quite get a panning photo where the object is still but the background is blurred
